The Operations Diagnostic is a short-term focused partnership designed to give you a clear, accurate picture of how your organization is actually functioning. It is a good fit whether you are running well and want to make sure your operations are as strong as your mission, or you are navigating strain and need to understand what is getting in the way. The work is grounded in your organization's reality. What comes out of it is shaped by you, not handed to you.


The focus is on the friction points, the workarounds, and the places where responsibility and decision-making are unclear. You leave with shared clarity on what matters most and a practical path forward. For some organizations that is enough. For others it becomes the foundation for deeper work.

HOW THE PARTNERSHIP works

This partnership combines conversations, document review, and working time to pinpoint what is creating drag in day-to-day operations. The goal is understanding how work is actually functioning and creating clearer conditions for leaders and teams to do their work well.


The partnership typically includes:


  • Discovery conversations focused on what is making daily work harder than it needs to be, clarifying near-term priorities, and identifying where small shifts can make a meaningful difference.
  • Review of key materials such as budgets, staffing structures, planning documents, governance materials, and internal tools that reveal how decisions, communication, and responsibility currently flow.
  • Practical operational guidance that strengthens how work moves across the organization without adding unnecessary layers or complexity.

  • A steady thought partner throughout so leaders have experienced support as the questions come up.
  • A clear, prioritized path forward so you can make decisions and move with intention rather than reaction.

This assessment does not replace staff leadership or take on day-to-day management. It does not include ownership of operational tasks or project execution, and it does not cover work that requires specialized professionals such as legal counsel, HR investigations, or audit services.
